Noumean Rashid brings to his immigration law practice a deep and abiding passion for helping people. “Immigrants are probably the most vulnerable group of individuals,” he explains, “and I feel it’s my duty to assist them properly.” As the son of immigrants, Noumean sees helping FGI’s clients as a way of “paying it forward”; as he says, “a good immigration attorney facilitated the process for my parents and now it is my turn to do the same for someone else.”
At FGI, Noumean specializes in employment-based processing for H-1B visas, L-1 Intracompany transfers, PERM certifications, and EB-1 Managers for business-based clients in the information technology sector. Noumean has also acquired a vast range of experience from investment visas such as E-2 Treaty Investor/Trader processing to family-based immigration and removal defense, where he was successful in both detained and non-detained cases and waiver applications. He has attended numerous family-based and employment-based adjustment interviews. In addition to the IT sector, Noumean has also helped clients in the hospitality and engineering professions. Noumean also advises the West Virginia University Law Clinic on immigration issues.
After earning his B.S. in Finance from Florida State University, Noumean earned his J.D. from the West Virginia University Law School. In his spare time, he enjoys basketball and Latin dancing, and has traveled extensively to such countries as Morocco, France, Spain, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Pakistan, Colombia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, and the Bahamas. When asked to summarize his professional philosophy, Noumean replied that “the positive impact of immigration can perhaps never be fully appreciated and thus the benefits that immigrants bring to countries around the world are immeasurable.”
