Steven Harris’ overseas experiences and his interactions with foreign nationals have deeply informed his immigration practice. “During my time studying for a semester abroad, I learned first-hand the various challenges faced by foreigners. I acquired an appreciation and compassion for those trying to reside and assimilate into the U.S.” Prior to joining FGI, he developed his considerable background in both H-1B non-immigrant and immigrant petitions.
At FGI, Steven focuses on H-1Bs, PERM Labor Certifications, I-140s, and I-485s for our IT and automotive clients. His focused and detail-oriented approach has helped FGI clients to better understand and navigate the often-complex immigration system.
Steven is a graduate of Indiana University and the Wayne State University Law School, and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Oakland County Bar Association. An avid Hoosiers fan, he enjoys watching college basketball and football, trying out new restaurants, and spending time with his family. Steven is also an extensive traveler, having spent time in France, where he studied abroad, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, the United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Croatia, Greece and Israel, as well as Canada and Mexico. Asked to define his professional philosophy, Steven says that “immigrants have played an integral role in the birth, growth, and prosperity of the U.S. I find it rewarding to assist our clients in achieving their immigration-related goals.”
