Profile

Thanks to her experiences as an immigrant to the United States, Irda Cela brings a knowing and compassionate approach to her legal practice. “Having moved from my homeland to the US,” she says, “I understand the struggles that immigrants face in adapting to a new country and in overcoming language and cultural barriers.” During her legal studies at the University of Detroit Mercy, Irda worked at the Immigration Law Clinic and also volunteered at the Southwest Detroit Immigrant and Refugee Center.

In her practice as an Attorney at Fakhoury Global Immigration, Irda assists our IT clients with nonimmigrant (H-1Bs and L-1) and immigrant (EB-1C and Adjustment of Status) cases. She takes pride in helping FGI clients to get the skilled talent that they need. “My goal,” she avers, “is to make my clients’ mobility experience as smooth as possible by using effective petitioning strategies. Legal immigration is an immensely complex field, and it takes an attorney with a real commitment to her clients to give them the guidance and support they need to navigate the system.”

Irda holds law degrees from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and the Democritus University School of Law (Greece). She enjoys travel and has been to the United Kingdom, Italy, Albania, and Greece. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Asked to describe her professional philosophy, Irda replied, “I believe that immigrants play such a crucial role in fostering innovation and economic growth in their adopted lands. It is a real privilege to serve them and to watch them achieve their professional and life goals.”
