Ph: 248-643-4900 (ext. 3021)
As a college student and as a volunteer in many metro Detroit organizations, Aaron Kochenderfer enjoyed advocating for diversity and for promoting greater cultural understanding. Through these experiences, he learned to appreciate the contributions that immigrants have made to creating dynamic businesses and flourishing communities. He believes that “unique backgrounds bring unique talents and perspectives” and incorporates this insight into his legal practice.
As an attorney at FGI, Aaron specializes in H-1B, L-1A, and family immigration matters for clients in the engineering and information technology sectors. His prior experience as a family immigration attorney has endowed him with an empathic approach to assisting his clients. “I heard numerous stories of perseverance along with an unyielding drive to build a prosperous life in America,” he recalls. “With close family members who have immigrated to the United States, their stories resonated with me.”
A graduate of Oakland University, Aaron earned his J.D. at Wayne State University’s School of Law. In addition, he is a member of numerous professional associations including the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the State of Michigan International Law Section, the Oakland County Bar Association, and the Oakland University Alumni Association. In his spare time, he enjoys volunteering, boating, cuisine, and spending time with family and friends. He sums up his professional philosophy by stating that “I treat my clients the way I wish to be treated. I want my clients to know that they are valued and being effectively represented.”
