As an attorney with FGI, Trevor Hass enjoys being part of the constantly changing and growing world of immigration law. For him, being at FGI allows him “the opportunity to follow the lawmaking process from start to end and to see first hand the impact that such laws can have on industries using immigrants in their fields.” As a former educator and clerk at another immigration firm, Trevor brings a well-rounded approach to his practice that has allowed him to understand the complexity of the immigration petitioning process and to provide his clients with the high quality service.
Trevor works primarily with non-immigrant H-1B petitions for FGI’s clients in the IT field. His knowledge of the intricacies of this category has allowed him to help clients navigate the petitioning process, giving them, as he describes it, “ease of mind when it comes to their filings.”
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Wayne State University and his J.D. from the School of Law at the University of Detroit, Mercy. In addition to being admitted to the State Bar of Michigan, Trevor is an American Bar Associate, and a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and the National Council for Social Studies.
He has recently published an article in the University of Detroit Mercy Law Review: “Try Not to Give Up the Ship! The Abandoned Shipwreck Act of 1987 and its Effects on Great Lakes Shipwrecks.” (2015) In his spare time, he enjoys hockey, scuba diving, travelling (Ireland, Mexico, Canada), and reading.
