Karen McNamara brings a wealth of international-related work experience to her practice as an Attorney for FGI. After working as a free-lance English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor and International Student advisor, she made a career switch into immigration law where she first worked as a paralegal at another firm. “I have had a keen interest in all areas of immigration law for many years,” she says, “and feel excited about taking part in assisting clients through the process of accomplishing their immigration-related goals.”

She works with FGI’s automotive and IT clients, specifically with PERM Labor Certifications, I-140s, EB-1s, I-185s, and H-1Bs. In her practice, she has taken immense satisfaction from helping clients, their employees, and their family members to achieve their career and life goals. “I also believe in the tremendous contributions that our clients make toward strengthening the culture and the economy of the U.S.,” she remarks, “and I feel honored to be able to participate in this process.”

Karen earned her Bachelor of Arts in History from Oakland University and her J.D. from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School. She has been admitted to the State Bar of Michigan.  In addition to traveling (France, Germany) and hiking, she enjoys spending time with her husband and family, two dogs and four cats
